# Portio > A budget planner that splits your income the day it arrives: giving first, bills next, the rest by percentages you choose. Tick each line as you move the money. Portio is a budget planner. Web app: https://portio.money/dashboard. iPhone and Android apps are coming soon. ## Facts - **What is Portio?** Portio is a budget planner that runs in any browser, with iPhone and Android apps coming soon. Each month it splits your income in a fixed order (giving first, then your bills, then the rest by percentages you choose) and turns the result into a checklist you tick as you move the money. - **How does Portio split my income?** In three steps. A percentage for giving comes off the top. Then your fixed bills are covered, in the order you set. What is left is split by your percentages. Example: an income of 3,000 with 5% giving and 1,050 of bills leaves 1,800 to split. At savings 25%, investment 20%, trips 15% and debt 40%, that is 450, 360, 270 and 720. - **Is Portio free?** Yes. Portio is free with one income entry per month, so a single monthly salary stays free. Premium adds unlimited incomes per month for $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Every new account gets 7 days of Premium with no card. Paid plans are not open yet: until they are, Premium is unlocked with an invite code. - **Does Portio connect to my bank account?** No. You type your income and your bills yourself. Portio never asks for a bank login, never reads your transactions and never holds or moves money: you make the transfers yourself and tick them off. Your budget is saved to your account so your phone and your browser show the same month. - **Which currencies and languages does Portio support?** Any currency: you name it once and your amounts are shown in it, with no conversion. Portio is available in English, French and Arabic, with a full right-to-left layout. - **What if my income is irregular, or I am paid more than once a month?** Add each income when it arrives. The first one fills your bills in order. Once the bills are covered, every extra amount goes to your percentage split, and finished lines reopen with the new amounts. More than one income in a month needs Premium. - **How is Portio different from the 50/30/20 rule?** 50/30/20 gives you three fixed buckets as shares of your whole income. Portio takes giving and fixed bills out first, as real amounts, and splits only what is left by percentages you pick, so the plan still adds up in a month when income drops. It also tracks whether you actually moved the money. - **Can I track money I owe and money owed to me?** Yes. List each person, what you owe them or what they owe you, and record payments as they happen. Each month Portio sets aside a share for debt, capped at what you still owe. - **Is there a referral program?** It opens with paid plans: a friend who joins through your link gets 20% off their first payment, and you get 20% of that payment back. ## Guides - [What should you do on payday?](https://portio.money/blog/what-to-do-on-payday.md): A 15-minute payday routine: give, cover the bills, fund your goals, then live on what is left.
